Duties Description Handle New Mail
• Prepare incoming correspondence for scanning and indexing; image and archive mail according to record retention policies.
Scan, Set up & Index claims
• Scan documentation into Datacap imaging system for further processing. Access Datacap and other OUF systems to setup claims. Review scanned images, search and identify appropriate claims to link and index images and transition claims for further processing.
Process claims
• Review and process claims, perform database searches using information provided by claimants; identify and link additional claim properties; determine and request in writing (generate correspondence) required proof and documentation; and recommend payment according to agency rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
Answer claimant inquiries by phone, email and letters.
• Create well organized and accurate correspondence utilizing standard sentences and program specific knowledge and experience. Answer e-mail correspondence timely using the established format and appropriate responses. Assist customers by telephone concerning questions relating to unclaimed funds.
