Duties Description The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) in the Finger Lakes Region is seeking a candidate who will oversee the office operations related to the delivery of support services to the public that involve Seneca Lake State Park and Canandaigua State Boat Launch. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assign, review, train, and evaluate the work of lower-level employees.
• Prepare schedules, seasonal payroll, and various clerical activities and responsibilities surrounding seasonal staff.
• Monitor and oversee fee collection, money banks, and auditing.
• Control parking access to and from park facilities during peak periods.
• Assist with shelter reservations and issuing permits.
• Answer routine questions and handle complaints from park patrons.
• Explain park rules and regulations as well as process written information required to meet patron’s needs.
• Occasionally assist with basic groundskeeping tasks, including moving debris, picking up limbs, and loading materials into trucks.
• Clean offices and restrooms as needed.
Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy manual labor.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed.
Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
